I love to eat bread… like, a lot of bread. Not only do I eat an inhuman amount of bread but almost any kind of carbs in my sight, it got to a point where my mom would yell at me [mama here : oh, kiddo, you haven't seen me yell. you have no idea.] because I had eaten so many bagels [mama here: like three bagels a day. wtf.]. I thought back to earlier in the year and remembered a recipe for chia seed pudding, it’s an awesome snack and super easy to make. I told my mom about it and she agreed to go to the store and grab the ingredients so I could finally have a healthy snack that I enjoy. Being the teenager that I am I was extremely impatient to wait the two days until she went to the store. [mama here: yeah, what's new.] |
Now for the recipe:
- 1 cup coconut milk
- ¼ cup chia seeds
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ cup maple syrup (or sub any sweetener)
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Any additional toppings (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc)
First you want to pour the coconut milk, chia seeds, vanilla, and maple syrup into a bowl of some-sort and mix very well, I suggest listening to some amazing jams to make your mixing experience top-notch [mama here: insert a korean pop boy band music here]. Next you want to add in the cinnamon, it's a little tough to mix it in with the coconut milk but just make sure there aren’t any clumps. After that you can pour the mixture into a mason jar or container, and store it in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Lastly you can add any type of topping you would like, I personally think blueberries are the best -just saying-
Now I read some article about chia seed pudding and it said it had Omega- 3, antioxidants, and calcium, so I’m assuming it’s quite healthy and it’s also really delicious. After I made my snack I, of course, made everyone try it… My mom says it’s really good but she's not to keen on sweets and does not enjoy the texture, Mike Church says it’s tasty and that I should make it more often, and my brother, Draven, says it’s amazing and I should make more for him to eat. Overall, chia seed pudding is an awesome snack for growing teenagers who eat too much bread and don’t enjoy being healthy. I’d honestly rate it a 10/10 and after writing this I really want chia seed pudding… bye!
